The Artist

Derrick (Benetez) Bryant

ARTIST STATEMENT

In my depiction of some true MC’s: Little Brother, I hope to convey a sense of movement and originality. I have always felt that Little Brother have brought a sense of soul and wit to hip hop culture. They are truly masters of their craft.
There are many forms of art, our earliest forms of communication are perceived through art. We as artists have been blessed with the lifetime gift of conveying a visual language. If it be by love or awareness it is our duty as artists to create. So then, my duty as an artist is to share my gift with the world with love and enlightenment. I like to enlighten my viewers, so when they view my art work a second time they are intrigued to see something different.
